Toby founded Meadows & Wood Hearing Care in 2020 after relocating to Somerset with his wife Claire. Their aim is to provide top quality independent hearing and ear care and in a family run and ethical practice.
He began his career studying Hearing in Cambridge, where he completed his degree and joined a national chain following his graduation, becoming a regional director. The corporate approach to patient care did not fulfil Toby and so he moved into the Independent sector where continuity of care was seen as a vital ingredient in successful patient outcomes. Toby joined County Hearing as their Managing Director in 2016 following several years with their sister company, DigiClear.
Toby is also an advanced wax removal and microsuction specialist and helps patients day-to-day with this as well as all of our other audiology services.

Claire is a dedicated manager with a passion for exceptional customer care. She is known for her warm and friendly personality and ready laugh. Claire prides herself on building strong rapport and truly understanding her clients' needs. With a strong sense of personal responsibility, she consistently strives for quality and excellence in every task. Her self-disciplined, methodical, and systematic approach ensures that she maintains an orderly workflow, allowing her to provide the best service possible.

With extensive training as a Hearing Care Assistant, Claire takes great pride in her hands-on approach to client care, your auditory health is her top priority. Specialising in microsuction and irrigation to safely remove ear wax, she is also qualified to conduct comprehensive hearing assessments and screenings. Claire finds immense job satisfaction in her work, as genuinely loves making a positive difference in her clients' lives.

Emma plays a key role in the office, greeting everyone that walks in with a warm smile and making them feel instantly at ease. Despite the fast-paced environment, Emma always manages to stay organised, ensuring that each client's visit runs smoothly. Her attention to detail and ability to juggle multiple tasks at once is outstanding, taking pride in offering exceptional customer service. Whether guiding a nervous patient through the process or helping a colleague with a last-minute request, Emma's hard work and commitment shines through, making her an essential part of the team.

Emma is incredibly enthusiastic about her work and in wanting to understand more about hearing care, she has undertaken a course on hearing aids and is now able to assist in maintenance, cleaning, and small repairs. This has helped Emma build stronger relationships with clients, as she can now provide them with more hands-on support and well-researched advice, enhancing their overall experience at Meadows & Wood.

Samuel is a qualified Hearing Care Assistant. He assists with hearing assessments and hearing aid maintenance while handling various administrative responsibilities. He is currently pursuing qualifications to become a Hearing Aid Dispenser, and is continuing to develop his clinical knowledge and skills. He works with our friendly clinic team to support the smooth running of daily operations and contribute to a professional environment.
